Up, down or somewhere in the middle? How do you choose what to do with your hair?

Think about what makes you most comfortable as ultimately this is what is most important. If you never wear your hair down because you like your hair off your face, your wedding day is probably not the day to do it!

Your dress design will influence your decision also. If there are beads or sequins that can catch hair, having it up and away from your dress is the better option. If you have a lot of shoulder, decolletage and/or back on show; you may want to cover this up a bit with hair down. Contrarily, if you have a backless dress that is showstopping and a feature you want to have out on display, then get that hair up! So needless to say, don’t decide on a hairstyle until you have your dress.

Getting more into the nitty gritty of hair suiting dress style, I always think the general aesthetics need to mesh well together. For example, a boho style dress will look well with texture, braids, and tendrils, but you wouldn’t necessarily go for a slick, snatched bun.

Your bridal hair stylist will run through options with you, but it is best to have an idea of what you like before meeting or talking to them. When you book your bridal hair with me, I offer a pre trial consultation through Whatsapp. We exchange inspiration photos/advice, and discuss clip in extensions, accessories, hair cuts and anything needed so that the trial is a good representation of what your wedding day hair will be.

There are so many beautiful and different hairstyles that are timeless and in fashion right now, it is a great era for bridal hair!
