Bride/Groom’s name: Amy Brolan
Bride/Groom’s name: Keith Brolan
Where are you both from? Dublin

Where did the reception take place? Please tell us all about it.
We held our reception at The Westgrove Hotel, and it was absolutely stunning! We’re still receiving compliments from our guests about how incredible our day was and how much they enjoyed every single moment. One thing we heard over and over was how smoothly everything ran. There was no waiting around; every part of the day flowed seamlessly into the next. Our guests also praised the hotel staff for being so accommodating and polite which is a huge thing for us. We really love excellent customer service and the hotel had it in spades! The décor throughout the hotel was beautiful, stylish, and exactly what we dreamed of. And it was all included in our package, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing.

How did you decide on that venue for your wedding?
We decided to visit a few hotels after attending the wedding fair at the RDS, and The Westgrove was the second-to-last one on our list. As soon as we walked in, we just knew it was the one. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff went above and beyond, and the hotel itself was simply beautiful.

What date was your wedding?
6th July 2024
What was the weather like for the big day?
The weather was absolutely perfect, thankfully! We were able to get in and out of the church with the sun shining. We had our photos taken on the beautiful grounds of The Westgrove Hotel with the sun still shining, and as soon as we were finished, the rain started pouring down. We were so lucky!

Where did you get your wedding dress/outfit and what brand/designer is it by?
I got my wedding dress from Truly Bridal Boutique, and it was a stunning Maggie Sottero design.

How did you decide on that dress/outfit? What was the experience like?
The experience at Truly Bridal was amazing. They have a fantastic setup, where you’re only allowed to have two dresses in your suite at a time. I think this is a brilliant approach, as it helps you narrow down options and eliminates the overwhelming feeling of choosing from too many dresses and styles.

Who was your photographer?
Our photographer was Alan Dunne, and I truly can’t find enough words to express how amazing he was. He was joined by Lorraine, who was equally incredible. They listened to everything I wanted – and didn’t want – and made sure to capture the perfect moments. Their relaxed and easy going approach helped us both feel at ease and fully enjoy every part of the day. My 3-year-old daughter got a bit overwhelmed, but Alan and Lorraine were fantastic with her, finding ways to get the most beautiful pictures while keeping her calm and happy.

What was the name of your wedding band and what were they like?
Our band was 52nd Street, and they were absolutely amazing. The dance floor was never empty! They were so easy to work with, and John really listened to everything we wanted. We had the 5-piece band, and we would highly recommend them to anyone.
What was your first dance song?
Our first dance song was “Falling Like Stars” by James Arthur.
Why did you choose that song?
The lyrics meant a lot to us and were very relatable.

What were your highlights from the day?
The morning was absolutely wonderful, getting ready with friends and family. Walking down the aisle was such an amazing moment – I’d love to relive it again. And walking into our dinner with all our friends and family dancing was unforgettable. There’s something incredibly special about knowing that everyone in that room is there to celebrate us as a couple.
Did anything unusual/disastrous/funny happen on the day?
No, thank God everything ran so smoothly.
Was organising the wedding stressful or relaxed and why?
Our wedding was completely stress-free, and it was actually enjoyable, which I didn’t think could be possible! We chose the All-Inclusive Package with The Westgrove Hotel, which made everything so easy. They provided a list of suppliers included in the package, and the best part was the variety of choices for each element of the day. From memory, there were three different photographers to choose from, four different bands, various cake companies, florists, etc. It was fun to choose your own suppliers but never overwhelming – it was fantastic!
Lorna and Lydia were absolutely amazing and a true credit to the hotel. They were so calm, easy going, and nothing was too much for them. Any questions I sent by email were answered the same day, and if I ever needed anything, they were always just a phone call away. I honestly cannot recommend Lorna and her team enough. She’s honest, kind, funny, and incredibly professional. She made sure our day was flawless from start to finish, ensuring there was never any stress at all.
Did you go on honeymoon, or do you have any plans for a honeymoon? Describe it please.
We haven’t had our honeymoon yet, but we went on a lovely family trip in August with our two beautiful girls. Hopefully, in the new year, we’ll get a little city break just for the two of us.

Tell us about the proposal (details please!)
We absolutely love going to Portugal, especially Albufeira, and we’ve been visiting for the past few years. Our eldest daughter had always joked that Keith should propose there, and it became a bit of a running joke in our family. I never thought he would actually do it, thinking it would be too obvious – but he surprised me completely!
We were out for dinner, and Keith suddenly disappeared. I didn’t think anything of it at first, but then his sister mentioned he was just going to take a picture of the sunset. Little did I know, he was actually setting up candles on the beach, waiting for me to join him and ask me to marry him. It was such a special moment, especially with our two girls and our family there to share it.

To go back in time, if you could tell us where, when and how you met each other? Details please!
We met in a nightclub called The Wright Venue in Swords. I wasn’t supposed to go out that night, but my friends convinced me to join them – and thankfully, they did! My now-husband was out with his best friend and was waiting for him while he was in the bathroom. We were sitting back to back, and he was being chatted up by another girl (who was a bit too forward, haha!). Anyway, he turned to me for rescue, and I stepped in, pretending to be his girlfriend. We ended up chatting for the rest of the night, and here we are now, married!
Any advice for other brides/grooms who are planning their weddings?
Just try to enjoy the process. As overwhelming as it can be, it’s such a special time, and you don’t want to look back and regret stressing instead of enjoying it. The All-Inclusive Package at The Westgrove Hotel was a huge help for us, so I’d highly recommend finding something similar – it’s honestly a game-changer.
