THINGS THAT ANNOY WEDDING GUESTS AND HOW TO ENCHANCE THE EXPERIENCE

AND HOW TO ENCHANCE THE EXPERIENCE

When planning your wedding, there are some elements to consider, to enhance a memorable guest experience for all the right reasons.

If your guest numbers are on the larger side, ensure minimum waiting times particularly at food and drink stations.

Ensure plenty of seating areas for all, and look at any outdoor space options – a bonus if you have sunny weather.

Consider a location that has good access, plenty of parking and close to alternative accommodation options.

Keep speeches interesting and not too long.

Some weddings have speeches staggered, for example at the drinks reception and before or after the meal.

Venues may have protocol for allowing speeches during certain meal times – always check your contract and advise your bridal party.

A podium (with a microphone) where all guests can see and hear clearly is a good idea, this gives more central focus on the speaker.

Consider an M.C. to introduce each speaker personally, guests will know who is who. This gives a more polished look and flows well.

At your drinks reception, it is always wise to cater for extra food (sandwiches) in addition to light canapes.  Lunch may have been missed.

Ensure all details are given on your invitations or website, including any dress code, timings, full addresses, Eircode’s, RSVP date and accommodation options.

A general running order of the day is a nice touch to display at the venue.

For any single guests, ensure they are not on their own and invite an optional plus one – unless part of group from work or a close circle of friends.
