The O’Neill family moved to Johnstownbridge on the 30th December 1960. At this time, the Hamlet Court Hotel was just a small shop and bar. Over the years, the O’Neill family embarked on extension after extension to create the perfect wedding venue for all groups!

We hosted our very first wedding in 1965, and since that day we have welcomed more than 6000 wedding couples to the hotel, helping them and their families to celebrate their special day.

We have a strict one wedding per day policy, ensuring each wedding or vow renewal ceremony is unique and special.

Our magnificent Blackwater Suite has it’s own kitchen, private bar and generous dancefloor. It’s stunning decor is inspired by Europe’s finest, iconic ballrooms, creating a feel of traditional elegance and lavish contemporary style.

We offer a bespoke service, which includes Chiavari chairs, colour coordinated mood lighting, table décor and various centrepiece options.

We pride ourselves on doing things differently, and with distinction as ‘no two weddings are the same’ , we are guaranteed to offer you a lasting memory!

We have acquired an extensive reputation for fine food and our talented team of chefs create only the highest quality of food for wedding receptions.
All of our dishes are prepared in our kitchen , using Guaranteed Irish ingredients, sourced locally where possible.
We have various vegan/vegetarian options for you and your guests and cater for a large range of dietary requirements.
And let’s not forget the little ones- we have a specially selected kid’s menu for your wedding day, ensuring all guests are looked after!
Our nearby Donadea castle, with natural lake and woodlands or the Royal Canal walkway with it’s natural beauty, also provide the perfect setting for those memorable photographs.
