The Ceólminers

We are The Ceólminers. We specialise in authentic, old-school Irish folk and trad music in the vein of the Dubliners, The Fureys and Christy Moore.

Our aim is the emulate an authentic Irish pub ballad session for your wedding day or day 2.

The kind of music that never fails to create an Irish party atmosphere. Our set list includes many of the standards of Irish folk music and Irish wedding favourites such as “The rattlin bog” , “Grace” and of course “The rocky road to Dublin” with lots of lively trad tunes on banjo and whistles from Brian. We also sing a few of our own original songs.

We love to play Irish wedding gigs above any other as there is such a positive, feelgood vibe to the whole event. It’s truly wonderful to be a part of such a joyous occasion as a wedding.

The feedback we get from our gigs gives us a great lift when we read our reviews. It’s a pleasure for us to play our music and be appreciated.

The Ceólminers are a core 2 piece band of Brendan Melia (Vocals, guitar, harmonica, 5 string banjo and percussion) and Brian Kelly (Tenor banjo, mandolin and whistles) We can engage more musicians if the need arises, e.g for after dinner entertainment (more dancing tunes) We can supply an Uilleann piper (for ceremonies) and up to a 5 piece band for a really special event.

We cover drinks receptions, Day2’s, after dinner, and After party gigs and Ceremonies on request (if you would like some beautiful Irish folk to soundtrack your “I do’s”)
